Welcome to the help section of the Observatory. This area of our site is aimed to help you find exactly
what you are looking for by way of a report, figure, table or map, efficiently and effectively.
Information from the Observatory can be obtained in a few different ways:
For example: You may want to search for some figures on population - if you know the types of figures you are looking for, then you should go to the comprehensive Facts & Stats section, choose the General folder and then the People folder under it and browse down the list of contents under this folder.
There is also a search facility in Facts & Stats:
OR
You can see how information is organised into topics by browsing one of the data themes.
Enter Data Themes
| | Find selective information | | View or Download the information |
For example, to find population figures you will need to go to the General theme.

Enter Map Zone | | Search for a location or zoom the map | | Select map layers to view |
You can then copy or print the map you have set up. To copy, right click on the map and choose Copy. To print, click the Print button below the map. To get started with mapping quickly it is recommended you read the Quick Help guide.
